Diflucan is a new subcategory of the synthetic triazole antifungals. Fluconazole is its active ingredient. It is chemically represented as: 2, 4-difluoro-a, a1-bis (1H-1, 2, 4-triazol-1-ylmethyl) benzyl alcohol.
The dosing of Diflucan varies from person to person. And, the use mostly depends on many conditions and factors. These factors include the medical condition of the disease, age and weight of the patient, medical history of the patient and patient’s reaction to the drug.
Diflucan is an antifungal medication. It is prescribed to treat certain type of infection that is caused by a particular variety of fungus. These infections include vaginal yeast infection, thrush in throat and mouth and infections in urinary tract.
Like other medications, intake of Diflucan has some possible side effects. Most of the side effects of this medication are minor and can be easily treated. The common side effects of this drug are headache, nausea, diarrhea and vomiting.
