What is Choroiditis?
|
Choroiditis is the inflamed condition of eye choroids. The combination of Choroiditis and retinitis is a fatal one and can lead towards permanent loss of vision. In medicinal terms the combination is known as chorioretinitis. During Choroiditis, generally one eye of the victim is affected. The affected eye witnesses reduced vision. Visual disturbance and growing blindness in the affected eye is marked. Impaired vision, soar or red eye and imbalanced sensitivity towards light are other symptoms of Choroiditis.
You can test Choroiditis at home too without going to your eye doctor. There are several sophisticated instrumentations available for home test of Choroiditis. Otherwise you can consult your eye doctor when you experience one or more of the above symptoms. Treatment of Choroiditis is highly dependent upon the location and intensity of the detachment. Cycloplegia is one of the latest treatments available to heal Choroiditis.
Eye doctors also use Prednisolone acetate and Prednisolone sodium phosphate for this purpose. Homatropine hydrobromide and Dexamethasone are also some reliable treatment methods. During the treatment the doctor might advise not to use contact lenses. Regular check up and maintaining better eye hygiene, are the keys to get better results from treatment. |
