When your fungus is swollen that might mean that the medication that you are on might not be working and the doctor could change your medication. If you are not on any medications the doctor will get you started on some right away. Talk with your doctor if you are working outside a lot because that could be causing the infection to get really bad.
When a fungus infection is swollen and it never heals it could be a recurrent infection and the doctor will still need to switch medications or either up the dosage if it is a recurring infection. If you do not follow the directions or if you are in the heat a lot you can still get it again despite all effort to prevent it.
