What is Hyperhidrosis?

Over 1% of the people today experience Hyperhidrosis. People with Hyperhidrosis go through sweating that becomes excesssive. This type of sweating occurs within armpits and hands. Sometimes the sweating can also happen on the feet.

When the sweating happens on the hands it is called Palmar Hyperhidrosis. Sweating on the armpits is called axillary hyperhidrosis. Sweating on the feet is called plantar hyperhidrosis. Doctors and Scientists are trying to do further research on Hyperhidrosis because the cause of it with people is unknown. However, research shows that the sympathetic nervous system does control the sweating and might play a major roll with it happening.

Doctors give a variety of treatments for Hyperhidrosis depending on what kind it is and how serious the condition might be. Hyperhidrosis can range from being either mild to severe and that is why treatment is needed. Follow ups are usually needed when treatment is being done for Hyperhidrosis.
