Pityriasis Rosea is actually very common and known as a skin disease that can be on someone anywhere from weeks to months. The appearance of Pityriasis Rosea is a rash and the way it looks will vary. Young adults and adolescents are the main targets for this rash. People often get it more in the spring or fall. Seniors over 60 years old don't usually get Pityriasis Rosea. This rash is not permanent and won't leave marks forever but sometimes people that have dark skin might have spots that are brown to develop and possibly stay.
The rash is shaped as a oval and the patch is very scaly. The rash can be located under the upper arms, thighs, and neck. A common mistake made with Pityriasis Rosea is that people can confuse it with ringworm.
One common reaction with the Pityriasis Rosea is itching. Sometimes the itching can be moderate and become severe. Patients who get overheated might experience severe itching. Jogging, walking and doing exercise can cause the itching to flare up.
