One of the most important steps when trying to prevent sporotrichosis is to start by preventing all those moldy spores that can enter into your skin.
Sporotrichosis preventions:
- If you are working with hay, roses, or any type of sphagnum moss be sure that you cover your skin if you have a scratch or cut on your skin.
- Wear gloves, long sleeves, and heavy boots when working with rose bushes, wires, or bales of hay to help prevent yourself from any puncture wounds.
- Try to avoid stickers or thorns if you are working in the garden.
- It is also important that you wear a mask to help protect your lungs from becoming infected.
These are just a few ways that you can help to prevent yourself from sporotrichosis. If you have a low immune system you will want to be sure and take caution and prevent yourself.
