There are certain patients that might be more of a prime target for getting Chronic Mucocutaneous Candidiasis. These patients that might stand at a higher chance of getting this disorder usually try looking for ways to prevent and stop it from happening or coming back again.
People who are at risk for Chronic Mucocutaneous Candidiasis:
- Patients who have low immune systems or either critically ill.
- Patients who have had surgical and medical ICUs
- Patients who are overweight
- Patients with poor hygiene.
Risk Factors For Chronic Mucocutaneous Candidiasis:
- Foley catheters
- Granulocytopenia
- Sold organ transplantation
- Hematoligic malignancies
- Corticosteroids
- Recent radiation therapy
- recent chemotherapy
- bacterial infection
- burns
- broad spectrum antibiotics
- gastrointestinal tract surgery
- chronic renal failure
- acute failure
New studies show that at least three out of 4 women have Chronic Mucocutaneous Candidiasis or either vulvovaginal candidiasis. Another study shows that over 90% of the people who have HIV also have a higher chance with getting Chronic Mucocutaneous Candidiasis.
