Skin fungus should be diagnosed the moment that you notice the problem such as Ringworm, Athlete’s Foot, Jock Itch, Tinea Versicolor, or Candidiasis. The quicker you start a treatment the faster it will stop the fungus from spread to other parts of your body that are not affected.
Follow the following step to start treatment of the various types of skin fungus.
- Be sure and keep the area that is affected by a skin fungus dry and clean. Do not touch anyone or allow anyone to touch the area that is infected.
- Athlete’s Foot can be treated with an antifungal cream. Apply the antifungal creams to the area on a daily basis for at least a month. If the cream is not working then an oral griseofulvin can be prescribed to you.
- A topical antifungal cream can be used to treat any type of Ringworm. If it is located within your scalp, there is an antifungal shampoo that you will want to use on a regular basis. If it is located on your face, an oral griseofulvin can treat it.
- Jock itch, Candidiasis, or Tinea Versicolor can be treated with an antifungal ointments.
If you are prescribed a medication for a skin fungus be sure that you completely finish it even if the fungus goes away.
