What Is Sporotrichosis?

Sporotrichosis is a skin infection that is caused by fungus known as Sporothrix Schenckii. On bread that is stale you can sometimes find mold and this fungus can be related to that yeast that is often used for brewing beer and after that it turns into bacteria. Once it turns into bacteria it creates and forms infections.

The mold can be found in:

- hay
- rose thorns
- sphagnum moss
- soil
- twigs

Gardeners and ones that work out in the yard have a high chance of getting Sporotrichosis. Farmers are also at risk of getting this and more so if they are around hay a lot or soil. When Sporotrichosis forms and is spotted, the doctor should be notified right away so treatment won't be put off because the infection can spread and grow causing a delay with healing. When treatment has started and other sores come up the doctor should be notified.
