What are the Symptoms of Contact Lenses Infections?

Wearing contact lenses makes your eyes vulnerable towards a number of eye problems including infections caused by microorganisms. If you have idea regarding the symptoms of these infections, it is easier to heal them. 

Dry eyes are the common symptoms of contact lens infections. The person can also witness red eyes, frequent tears, itching and burning and pain in frequent intervals. The pain is due to presence of foreign bodies like microorganisms in your eyes coming through contact lenses. Some of symptoms are temporary in nature. If the symptoms continue for more than a couple of days, you are advised to consult your eye doctor and test the hygiene of lenses immediately. Another common eye infection for contact lenses users is corneal ulceration.  People wearing soft contact lenses are more vulnerable towards this infection.

Symptoms of corneal ulceration are severe irritation in the corneal area including discomfort and excessive tearing. Some experience a blurred vision, and extreme pain. Contact lenses infection can also be marked by variance in focal sensitivity, corneal abrasions and inflammation of cornea. Inflammation of cornea is known as Keratitis. People having Keratitis experience red eyes, excess tearing, lower sensitivity to light, sensation of foreign bodies in eyes and severe pain.
