When you get nail fungus you get certain symptoms that happen. Sometimes these symptoms might happen over night or it could take awhile for them to happen.

- nails thicken

- nails become crumbly
- nails can get brittle
- the shape is distorted
- it can appear to be dull
- it won't shine

When you have nail fungus it is important to watch these symptoms to make sure that it does not develop any kind of infection. When your nail becomes infected you could get develop onycholysis and you might have a very foul and unpleasant odor that comes from the infected nail or nails. That is all the more reason to see the doctor.
