What are the Symptoms of Viral Pneumonia?

In viral pneumonia, a patient experiences difficulty in breathing as inflammation occurs in the tissues of lungs. The bronchioles and bronchial tubes also get affected by this disease. There are certain common symptoms that are observed in both young and adult patients of viral pneumonia. If fever is associated with chills or sweating, and it is not subsided with two days, it is assumed that the disease could be viral pneumonia. Breathing trouble also accompanies these symptoms.

Some patients undergo aches and pain in the muscles and fatigue which is possibly not coupled with sweating. In this case fever is absent although the disease remains the same. Sometimes the patients develop cough which might contain excess amount of sputum and this can be a sign of viral pneumonia. Breathing becomes abnormal in various terms. It can be more rapid than the normal pace which means that the function of lungs is hampered for some reason. Some patients feel that the lymph glands at the throat and neck get swelled and enlarged.

The nodes also swell up as the body undergoes this viral infection. If any of few of these symptoms are observed in a patient, he or she should be taken to the doctor immediately; if delayed the result can be as fatal as death.
